Resolution approving modifications to the Lake County Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
Staff Summary
· The County recognizes the need to be compliant with federal FMLA regulations and provide clear guidance to employees on the process.
· In an effort to ensure the current FMLA policy is consistent with federal regulations, and to provide clear procedures for employees, FMLA policy 4.8 was updated.
· Upon review of the current policy, it was determined that we needed to provide more clarity regarding FMLA and substance abuse and update some of the language in the procedures in order to be consistent with our new FMLA vendor's (Compsych) processes.
