Discussion regarding extending the expiration date of Section 4.11, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), in the Employee Policies and Procedures manual.
Staff Summary
• In May 2020, the County adopted the FFCRA to comply with federal regulations.
• The FFCRA requires certain employers to provide employees with paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
• Due to the ongoing pandemic, Human Resources found a need to extend these benefits past the original expiration date of December 31, 2020.
