Staff Summary
· SFY 2012 Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) PL Agreement.
· Planning Liaison (PL) funds are distributed yearly from the Federal Highway Administration to IDOT and then to the CMAP.
· These funds help support transportation planning by the Lake County Division of Transportation and the Lake County CMAP Council of Mayors, i.e., LCDOT staff positions.
· In state fiscal year 2012, which starts July 1, 2011, the allocation to the LCDOT was increased to $156,673.07, from $96,336.91, to cover the additional workload that the CMAP describes in its agreement.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Section 104 of Chapter 1 of Subpart A of Title 23, United States Code, has authorized through the State of Illinois, Metropolitan Planning Funds, hereinafter referred to as “PL” funds to carry out Section 134 of Chapter 1 of Subpart A of Title 23, United States Code; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois makes this funding available to the CMAP for carrying out the responsibilities under Section 134 of Title 23, United States Code through the CMAP Transportation Committee and the region’s designated Metropolitan Planning Organization; and

WHEREAS, the CMAP has determined a need for sub-regional transportation planning activities and has allocated “PL” funds to the Lake County Council of Mayors to be utilized under the direction of the Lake County CMAP Council of Mayors to perform said planning activities; and

WHEREAS, the Lake County CMAP Council of Mayors and Lake County have determined that it is in their best interests to mutually cooperate in the coordination of transportation planning activities in Lake County; and
