· Through the federal ARRA grant #809036, the State’s Attorney’s Office received 100% funding for a Victim/Witness Counselor position from March 1, 2010 to February 28, 2013. The extension, and increased grant funding of $10,737, would continue to support 100% program funding through September 30, 2013.
· The Victim Witness Counselor serves misdemeanor domestic violence victims and assists as necessary in serving aggravated battery, cyber crime, identity theft and fraud victims.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office is in the process of extending the US Department of Justice 2009 American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) grant #809036, administered through the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority(ICJIA), which will continue to support a victim/witness counselor position in the Misdemeanor Division through September 30, 2013 ; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office will continue to use this funding for the Victim Witness Counselor position in its inventory through September 30, 2013; and
WHEREAS, the 2009 ARRA JAG Grant #809036 has been increased in program funding of $10,737 and it is necessary to appropriate this revenue amount; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the extension amendment as described herein; and
