• In July of 2020, the Lake Sheriff’s Office applied for a grant in the amount of $100,000, for hiring nurse(s) to work at the Wellness Center.
• The Sheriff’s Office received notification on November 23, 2020, that it had been awarded $50,000, contingent of receipt of matching funds, the opening of a Wellness Center and hiring of nurse(s).
• On October 16, 2020, an anonymous donor submitted a matching grant letter in the amount of $50,000.
• The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received the remaining $50,000 in funding before the close of Fiscal Year (FY) 2021.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office applied for a $100,000 grant from the HFNLC and was awarded a $50,000 grant; and,
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office along with a matching grant of $50,000.00 from the anonymous donor will hire nurse(s) for the Wellness Center; and,
WHEREAS, The Lake County Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Independence Center in the hiring of a nurse(s) for the Wellness Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board, the Lake County Sheriff, and the Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to approve an emergency appropriation in the amount of $50,000 received in FY 2021 and execute the necessary documentation to accept said award.
