Joint resolution authorizing a contract with Aetna Better Health of Chicago, Illinois to allow Winchester House to participate in the State of Illinois Integrated Care Program.
Staff Summary
· The State of Illinois instituted an Integrated Care Program for the aged, blind and disabled population and selected Aetna Better Health as one of two vendors to provide coverage to this population.
· The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services assigns individuals from the aforementioned population to one of the vendors with payment for services coming from the vendor instead of the State's Medicaid program.
· Currently, one resident at Winchester House who is under 65 and therefore not eligible for the State's Long-term Care Medicaid program, has been assigned to the Aetna program.
· There is no direct cost to the County.
Body
WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has instituted a managed care program for the Aged, Blind and Disabled Population; and
WHEREAS, The State of Illinois assigns individuals to one of two vendors selected to provide services to this population; and
WHEREAS, The State of Illinois will no longer pay for services to this population under the Long-term Care Medicaid program; and
WHEREAS, Winchester House desires to enter into a contract with Aetna Better Health so that services to this population can continue; and
WHEREAS, Authorization is required for the County Board Chair to sign the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chair is authorized to sign a contract with Aetna Better Health for the Integrated Care Program.
