Staff Summary

•                     The County's Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility requires several equipment modifications and improvements in order to accommodate system growth, improve aerobic digestion performance and increase sludge dewatering capacity.

•                     This project will include the installation of one 150 horse power aeration blower, one 2.0 meter sludge press and six magnetic flow meters, complete with associated piping, electrical and instrumentation work.

•                     The project cost is estimated at $1,000,000 with construction to be accomplished between October, 2008 and July, 2009.

•                     Committee authorization is requested to solicit bids for the Des Plaines River Water Reclamation Facility Blower, Flow Meters and Sludge Press Additions Project.
