Resolution proclaiming the week of October 16-20, 2010, as Say YES! to Youth Success in Lake County, Illinois.
Body
WHEREAS, Lake County has over 200,000 school age children in public and private schools throughout the county, and
WHEREAS, every day countless young people in Lake County contribute in some manner or another to the well-being of the populace, and
WHEREAS, often the endeavors and achievements of these young people go unnoticed, and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to recognize the strengths of youth and the roles young people can assume in benefitting the community, and
WHEREAS, it is an appropriate developmental practice to offer youth opportunities to realize their potential, and
WHEREAS, whereas it is the intent of the Lake County After School Coalition to unite youth, families, agencies, community groups, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations, communities, any other activity concerned with the success of young people, and the county as a whole in recognizing the achievements of youth, and
WHEREAS, a portion of this intent to recognize youth shall be realized by an awareness campaign in October 2010 entitled, Say YES! to Youth Success, and
WHEREAS, the Say YES! to Youth Success campaign will be conducted by participating groups throughout the month of October with special emphasis on the week of October 10th, and
WHEREAS, acknowledgement of youth success shall be made in manners appropriate to the participating group including posters, marquees, news articles, signs in windows, banners, bulletins, flyers, buttons, stickers, recognition ceremonies, and proclamations
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that we do hereby proclaim the week of October 10-16, 2010 as Say YES! to Youth Success in Lake County, Illinois.
