· As part of the Maple Avenue Lift Station Replacement Project it was necessary to acquire a permanent easement from the property owner at the corner of Maple Avenue and Elmwood Lane in unincorporated Mundelein.
· The property owner requested an easement fee in exchange for the permanent use of the property.
· The easement value was appraised as fair and appropriate.
· This resolution authorizes the County to remit an easement fee of $12,000 to the property owner at 26340 N. Elmwood Avenue, Mundelein, Illinois.
Body
WHEREAS, the County of Lake (“County”), operates and maintains sanitary sewer systems in the Southeast Central Lake Facilities Planning Area; and
WHEREAS, the Maple Lift Station, located in the Southeast Central Lake Facilities Planning Area, was constructed over 20 years ago and is now in need of replacement; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Maple Lift Station Replacement Project it is necessary to obtain a permanent easement from the property owner at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Elmwood Avenue, with a common address of 26340 N. Elmwood Ave., Mundelein, IL; and
WHEREAS, the property owner has granted the required permanent easement subject to receipt of a $12,000 easement fee; and
WHEREAS, the County has received an appraisal valuating the easement cost of $12,000 as fair and appropriate; and
WHEREAS, payment of the easement fee must be authorized by Resolution of the County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Public Works Department is hereby authorized and directed to remit an easement fee in the amount of $12,000 to the property owner at 26340 N. Elmwood Ave., Mundelein, IL related to the Maple Lift Station Replacement Project.
