Report on the Forest Lake Water System and Aqua Illinois Rate Case.
Body
· The County had negotiated a Compliance Commitment Agreement with the IEPA that requires the construction of new improvements to the Forest Lake Water System be completed and operational by March 1, 2012.
· A Water Supply and Sales Agreement between Aqua Illinois, the Village of Hawthorn Woods, and the County has been executed that provides water service to the Forest Lake system, and appropriate connection fees have been forwarded to the parties.
· The County has completed the construction of water system improvements and will be initiating operation with the new water source on March 1, 2012.
· A letter will be sent to residents regarding start-up of the new system. In addition, the effective water rate will be adjusted to reflect the cost of the current Aqua Illinois rate.
· The Administrative Law Judge for the ICC has prepared a Proposed Order regarding the Aqua Illinois rate increase request and has provided notice of his ruling which requires Aqua to submit resultant rates, resultant "typical bills," and percentage changes from previous bills.
· Final resultant rates from Aqua are expected to be available in approximately two months time at which time a determination on the rates for Forest Lake customers as well as Glennshire customers will be established.
