Performance Measures Report - Pfister

Body

The health and human service sector has been measuring various aspects of performance measurement for twenty years or more. Within the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center we currently have two CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) Coordinator positions - in Behavioral Health and Primary Care Services and two CQI Specialists in Population Health Services. Our CQI Coordinators and Specialists are key individuals in our service areas as they assure that the appropriate data collection occurs, compile and evaluate the data and report all required performance measures for various grants and other regulatory bodies.

Performance measurement provides feedback and direction to staff, focuses the efforts of workgroups on procedures and programmatic issues, identifies training and technical assistance needs, pinpoints service units/ and or participant populations that need attention, compares alternate service delivery strategies, identifies partners for collaboration, sets targets for future performance, tracks effectiveness and overtime, and enhances our public image. Most of our programs benefit from this by simply discussing their intended outcomes. Getting staff focused in the same direction increases effectiveness and improves services.

Our goal with this annual performance measure report is to improve communication with the Senior Team and Board of Health and to illustrate the depth of performance measurement that we have been undertaking as part of the Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation (APIE) departmental committee.
