· The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) was awarded $531,672 in Illinois EPA Section 319 grant funds for various best management practices (BMP) implementation projects in the Villages of Bannockburn, Deerfield, and Green Oaks.
· Project concepts were developed for the North Branch Chicago River Watershed following a planning effort involving SMC, the villages, and residents.
· The emergency appropriation will provide $297,919 for the Village of Bannockburn, $10,777 for the Village of Deerfield, and $102,475 for the Village of Green Oaks to implement BMPs in addition to $120,501 for SMC for grant and project management tasks.

WHEREAS, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) has entered into an agreement with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to work with local partners to construct best management practice (BMP) projects as recommended in the North Branch Chicago River watershed plan; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Commission has entered into an agreements with the Village of Bannockburn, the Village of Deerfield and the Village of Green Oaks to implement Best Management Practices consistent with the North Branch of the Chicago River watershed-based plan; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Commission will receive $531,672 from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency through Section 319 Nonpoint Source Pollution Reduction Program of the Clean Water Act under Financial Assistance Agreement 3191110 toward the cost of these BMP projects, and this amount is not included in the current year budget.
