Presentation and discussion regarding a policy related to the potential transferring of assets and responsibilities from the former Lakes Region Sanitary District (“District”).
Staff Summary
• In June 2023, the final dissolution of the District was completed, and the District’s remaining property was transferred to Lake County.
• During the review of the District’s dissolution, there was initial discussion on realignment of specific sections of the District’s collection system that overlapped with portions of Fox Lake, Lake Villa, Round Lake, and Round Lake Beach.
• Staff has drafted a policy that outlines a procedure for possible realignment and/or transfer of those assets and responsibilities to those selected municipalities and is requesting Committee feedback.
