Staff Summary
• There is a need to purchase 28 in-car printers for the Sherriff’s Office to support electronic ticketing.
• The printers are configured with a computer chip that permits printing of traffic tickets through the Electronic Ticketing software developed by Advanced Public Safety Inc. (APS) which is integrated with the VisionAIR jail application and CRIMS.
• The Purchasing Agent consulted with an ad hoc review group and determined that this purchase is exempt from bidding on the basis of sole source.
• This purchase will cost $39,124.86.

WHEREAS, there is a need to purchase 28 In-Car Printers to support Electronic Ticketing for the Sheriff’s Office; and
WHEREAS, The printers are configured with a specialized computer chip that permits printing of traffic tickets through the Electronic Ticketing software developed by Advanced Public Safety Inc. (APS) which is integrated with the VisionAIR jail application and CRIMS; and
WHEREAS, Advanced Public Safety Inc., Deerfield Beach, Florida is the only source for this requirement; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Article 6, Section 102 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance, the Purchasing Agent consulted with an ad hoc review group and determined that this purchase is exempt from bidding on the basis of sole source.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into an agreement with Advanced Public Safety Inc., Deerfield Beach, Florida for the purchase of 28 In-Car Printers for the Sheriff’s Office in the amount of $39,124.86 charging the costs to account # 101-1102050-84020-000-000-000-11030.
