Staff Summary
• In July of 2020, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) applied for a grant in the amount of $100,000 for hiring a full-time nurse to work at the Wellness Center.
• The LCSO received notification on November 23, 2020, that it had been awarded $50,000 contingent of receipt of matching funds, the opening of a Wellness Center and hiring of a nurse.
• On October 16, 2020, the Lake County Opioid Initiative (LCOI), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization submitted a matching grant letter in the amount of $50,000.
• The LCSO will partner with NICASA Behavioral Health Services in hiring a nurse for the Wellness Center.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office applied for a $100,000 grant from the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County (HFNLC) and was awarded a $50,000 grant; and,
WHEREAS, the LCSO along with a matching grant of $50,000 from the Lake County Opioid Initiative (LCOI) will hire a full-time nurse for the Wellness Center; and,
WHEREAS, The LCSO will partner with NICASA Behavioral Health Services in the hiring of a nurse for the Wellness Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chair of the Board, the Lake County Sheriff, and the Lake County Treasurer are hereby authorized to approve an emergency appropriation in the amount of $50,000 and execute the necessary documentation to accept said award.
