Joint resolution authorizing an intergovernmental agreement with the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) for the receipt of $170,332.95 in funding to provide transportation planning staff assistance for the Lake County Council of Mayors (LCCOM).

Staff Summary
* Planning liaison funds are distributed yearly from the Federal Highway Administration to CMAP through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
* These funds help support transportation planning provided by the Lake County Division of Transportation's (LCDOT) staff and the LCCOM.
* Among other activities, LCDOT staff will continue to be the communication link between CMAP and the LCCOM; regularly attend all CMAP boards, committees, and other relevant meetings; support the development and implementation of CMAP programs such as the Local Technical Assistance program; and provide technical and administrative support for the LCCOM related to the development, monitoring, and management of its federally funded transportation projects.
* In State Fiscal Year 2020, which begins July 1, 2019, the allocation to LCDOT will be $170,332.95 to cover the workload that CMAP describes in its agreement.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Section 104 of Chapter 1 of Subpart A of Title 23, United States Code, has authorized through the State of Illinois, Metropolitan Planning Funds, hereinafter referred to as "PL" funds, to carry out Section 134 of Chapter One of Subpart A of Title 23, United States Code; and

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois, by and through the Illinois Department of Transportation, makes this funding available to CMAP for carrying out the responsibilities under Section 134 of Title 23, United States Code, through the CMAP Transportation Committee and the region's designated Metropolitan Planning Organization; and
