WHEREAS, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has provided a Program Year 2009 grant under the Workforce Investment Act to the Lake County Workforce Development Department; and
WHEREAS, the total grant for Lake County Workforce Development is $5,552,916, which is an increase of $1,071,888; and
WHEREAS, this grant is for the fiscal year July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2010, to provide funding to adults, dislocated workers, incumbent workers and youth; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to approve an emergency appropriation of $1,071,888 to allocate these funds into the Workforce Department budget and authorize acceptance of this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $1,071,888 for the Workforce Development Department is hereby approved and that the Workforce Investment Act Grant be accepted. A chart of accounts will be provided to the Controller in a timely manner.
