Body
WHEREAS, the 2009 Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption filing deadline was July 1, 2009; and
WHEREAS, currently the County has received approximately 8,500 applications for this homestead exemption, and in 2008, the County approved approximately 10,400 applications; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the eligible senior citizens who benefit from this homestead exemption that the filing deadline be extended; and
WHEREAS, it is being recommended that the deadline be extended to August 31, 2009.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the filing deadline for the 2009 Senior Citizen Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption be extended until August 31, 2009.
