Discussion regarding department submissions for the Fiscal Year 2024 Legislative Agenda.
Staff Summary
• In July, County Department Heads were asked to provide their legislative ideas in preparation for the development of the County’s 2024 Legislative Agenda. Concepts and topical ideas were provided and collected from other various sources.
• Staff will provide summaries and look for committee direction related to the following state topics:
• Senior Tax Assessment Freeze for Low Income Residents
• Private Water Provider Reform
§ Communication Mandates with Fire Districts/Departments
§ Accountability Improvements
• Support/Sponsor Ethan’s Law Adoption
• Support for Route 53 Greenway
• Green Amendment - Right to Clean Air & Clean Water
• State Wetland Regulations and Program
• Septic Inspection Requirements
• Staff will provide summaries and look for committee direction related to the following federal topics:
• Standards Related to E-vehicle fires
• Increases to Weight Allowances for Heavy Truck Freight
