Joint resolution authorizing executive of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Teamsters Local Union 700, as exclusive representative of the Correctional employees bargaining unit of the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Staff Summary
· The changes requested are a result of an interest arbitration award.
· Under the award, wages will be increased in the following manner: 12/1/2010 - 2.5%; 12/1/2011 - 2.5%; 12/1/2012 - 2.5%.
· The 15% cap of insurance expenses was removed by the Arbitrator.
· The shift bidding language was changed to state, if an employee does not make a choice, then their shift assignment is at the discretion of the employer.
· Election Day and the day after Thanksgiving are floating holidays, not fixed.
· The CBA shall be effective for a three year period from December 1, 2010 through November 30, 2013.

WHEREAS, the Teamsters Local Union 700 has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for the Correctional Division employees of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, and
WHEREAS, your Law and Judicial and Financial and Administrative Committees have reviewed and approved said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Chairman of the Board and the Sheriff are hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Agreement shall be effective from December 1, 2010 through November 30, 2013.
