RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, at its meeting on February 8, 2022, adopted a resolution to establish Ride Lake County as a borderless, countywide paratransit service for seniors and individuals with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting on May 13, 2025, authorized the County Board Chair, the County Clerk, and the County Engineer to apply for a grant from the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA), formerly the Regional Transportation Authority, to provide for the Ride Lake County paratransit program; and
WHEREAS, Lake County, by and through its Division of Transportation, was notified by the NITA on August 22, 2025, that it was approved to receive $1,750,000 of federal Section 5310 grant funds to provide funding for said Ride Lake County service; and
WHEREAS, this Lake County Board, at its meeting on December 9, 2025, appropriated $1,000,000 of 1/4% Sales tax for transportation funds and authorized the County Engineer to execute an agreement with Pace Suburban Bus providing terms and conditions for the operation of the Ride Lake County paratransit service as a border...
