Proposed Revisions to the Water Well Program Administrative Procedures and Policies - Mackey

Lake County Code of Ordinances Chapter 170 authorizes and directs the Health Officer to develop procedures, practices, and policies to interpret and enforce the rules and regulations in the Chapter. The Water Well Program Administrative Procedures and Policies provide direction to staff on how to conduct the activities of the program and assure consistency and continuity in program policies and procedures.
Revisions are proposed to the current Water Well Program Administrative Procedures and Policies to provide clarified and more detailed guidance to staff on the handling of code enforcement cases for abandoned water wells, and for water sample collection requirements at non-Community water systems. There are also proposed revisions to the well modification section that reflect recent changes in the Illinois Water Well Construction Code, which is adopted by reference in Chapter 170.
These proposed revisions were reviewed and approved by the Environmental Health Advisory Committee at their May 15, 2023, meeting.
