Staff Summary
· The County's Fair Housing Program is mandated by Housing and Urban Development and is included in the County 2012 Annual Action Plan.
· A request for qualifications seeking organizations to administer this program was distributed, with two organizations providing responses.
· At its meeting on July 25, 2012, the Community Development Commission recommended Prairie State Legal Services to continue to serve as the program administrator.
Body
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board previously approved the submittal of an Annual Action Plan as application for Community Development Block Grant funding, HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funding, and Emergency Solutions Grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the 2012 Annual Action Plan identified a Fair Housing Program with an administering organization to be determined; and
WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications was distributed seeking organizations to administer the program; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Commission, after reviewing the applicants, has recommended that Prairie State Legal Services be selected as the administering organization.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lake County Board Chairman or his designee is hereby authorized to execute the necessary documents related to the administration of a Fair Housing Program by Prairie State Legal Services.
