RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Chain O’ Lakes Watershed-Based Plan was completed in February 2024; and
WHEREAS, the Chain O’ Lakes Watershed-Based Plan planning area includes the upper Fox Riverand Chain O’ Lakes watersheds in Lake County, Illinois;
WHEREAS, the watershed-based plan was developed in a collaborative manner with diverse stakeholder input; and
WHEREAS, stewardship of water resources important to Lake County residents; and
WHEREAS, the watershed plan offers guidance to urban and rural landowners and decision-makers alike for conserving the natural resources within the respective watershed planning area; and
WHEREAS, the Chain O’ Lakes Watershed-Based Plan supports the mission of the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission to improve water quality, reduce flood damages, and restore and enhance the natural drainage system in Lake County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lake County Stormwater Management Commission supports a collective effort to implement the projects, programs, and policies recommended in the Chain O’ Lakes Watershed-Based Plan.
