Resolution amending Policy 4.13, Paid Parental Leave, in the Employee Policies and Procedures Manual.

 

Staff Summary

                     On December 14, 2021, the County Board approved a resolution establishing changes made to the Paid Parental Leave Policy and benefit for County Employees.

                     As staff implemented the new benefit, they noted language in the Policy that was confusing.

                     Staff discussed and reviewed recommended revisions to the Paid Parental Leave Policy with the Financial & Administrative Committee on July 27, 2023.

                     This Policy now applies to Full-Time employees only.

                     Employees are eligible after 6 months of service with the County.

RESOLUTION

 

WHEREAS, The Human Resources Department will periodically review and recommend updates to employee policies in accordance with current best practices; and

 

WHEREAS, The County’s current Paid Parental Leave policy includes language that requires further clarification.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the revisions to the Paid Parental Leave policy, in the Employee Policies and Procedures manual herewith be approved.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Human Resources Director is directed to implement these Policy revisions upon adoption by the Board.
