Resolution providing for the appointment of Gary Gordon as the Lake County Director to the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA) Board of Directors and Commuter Rail Board of Directors (Metra).

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the provisions of Public Act 104-0457 provide that the Chair of the Lake County Board shall appoint one director to the NITA Board of Directors and Metra Board of Directors with the advice and consent of the Lake County Board, and the appointee shall reside in Lake County; and
WHEREAS, Gary Gordon has been the County’s representative on the Metra Board of Directors since April 2025 and is interested in expanding his role in representing Lake County on the NITA Board of Directors in this larger capacity; and
WHEREAS, your Chair requests that this County Board confirm the appointment of Gary Gordon as the Lake County Director to the Northern Illinois Transit Authority for a term beginning on September 1, 2026, and ending on August 31, 2029.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the appointment of Gary Gordon as the Lake County Director to the Northern Illinois Transit Authority and the Commuter Rail Board for a term beginning on September 1, 2026 and ending on August 31, 2029, be, and the same is hereby confirmed.
