Staff Summary
• This is a three-year agreement beginning on December 1, 2025, through November 30, 2028, and covers 17 Sergeants in the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Division.
• Establishment of a longevity bonus structure paying from $1,000 to $2,500 at 5-year milestones up to 30 years.
• Wage settlement includes the implementation of a pay differential between the top Correctional Officer rate and the promotional Sergeant rate. The differential will be 6 percent in the first year, increasing to 8 percent in years two and three.
• The additional cost of base salaries in the first year of the contract will be just below $116,000.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Metropolitan Alliance of Police Chapter 777 has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for employees in the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Sergeants Unit; and
WHEREAS, the parties have reached a tentative agreement on a successor contract; and
WHEREAS, the County Board holds the final approval to ratify the terms of the tentative agreement reached.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this the County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Board Chair is hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and make a part of this Resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Agreement shall be effective from December 1, 2025, through November 30, 2028, consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act 5ILCS 315/21.
