Public Hearing for the Del Mar Woods Subdivision related to the establishment of a Special Service Area (SSA).

 

Staff Summary

•                     The Lake County Board passed a proposing Ordinance establishing Special Service Area 18 on April 14, 2026, related to services previously provided by the nonoperational Del Mar Woods Sanitary District.

•                     A public hearing is required per state statute during the period between proposing and establishing an SSA (35 ILCS 200/27-35). At the hearing, the County will "hear and determine all protests and objections."

•                     Following the public hearing there is a 60-day waiting period to determine if a petition to oppose the SSA arises.

•                     After the 60-day waiting period, the final enactment Ordinance will then be brought before the Board.
