Staff Summary
• The Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group is a multi-jurisdictional law enforcement task force concentrating on focused law enforcement for illegal drug activity, gangs and weapons offenses.
• The Sheriff’s Office receives this money for reimbursement of two (2) detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Enforcement Group (MEG).
• If these positions remain assigned to MEG for the entire fiscal year, the County will be reimbursed $61,352.
• The reimbursement rate per position is 55%.
Body
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office may receive up to $61,352.00 in grant funds from the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority on behalf of the Metropolitan Enforcement Group; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that the County Board authorize the acceptance of this grant in order for the Sheriff’s Office to continue receiving these funds; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois the revenue from this grant be deposited into account number 101-3001110-45020-000-000-000-00000, and the acceptance is authorized in connection with the Metropolitan Enforcement Group grant.
