Staff Summary
* Chapter 94 of the Lake County, Illinois Code of Ordinances (Public Nuisances) requires periodic review to maintain relevancy and address changing conditions.
* Minor amendments to the Nuisance Ordinance are proposed to: (a) align the ordinance with standard practice for continuances, (b) align the ordinance with standard practice for warning notices, and (c) incorporate other miscellaneous clarifying edits.
* Following Committee action, this item will proceed to the Board for adoption.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board has the authority to implement the process of Administrative Adjudication within Lake County, Illinois pursuant to Chapter 55, Section 5/5- 43005 of the Illinois Compiled Statutes; and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2011, the Lake County Board adopted the Lake County Administrative Adjudication Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board incorporated the Lake County Administrative Adjudication Ordinance into the Lake County, Illinois Code of Ordinances as Chapter 94 of the Lake County, Illinois Code of Ordinances on February 10, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Code requires periodic review to maintain relevancy and address changing conditions; and
WHEREAS, the Planning, Building and Development Department prepared draft ordinance text amendments to Chapter 94 Public Nuisances for the purposes of procedural clarification in alignment with standard practices; and
WHEREAS, your Planning, Building, Zoning and Environment Committee duly considered the proposed text amendment aforedescribed and recommends that the text amendment as specified in Exhibit A be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois that the amendment to Chapter 94 of the Lake County, Illinois Code of Ordinances as attached in Exhibit A be adopted and made effective immediately; and
