WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 4-102 of the Purchasing Ordinance of Lake County, IL bids were called for by publication for four (4) Un-Interruptible Power Systems (UPS) for Lake County Emergency Telephone System Board (LC ETSB); and
WHEREAS, these systems will be installed at the Wauconda, Island Lake, Lake County Sheriffs Office and Antioch Public Service Answering Points; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, invitations for bids were extended to fifteen (15) vendors; and
WHEREAS, sealed bids were received from five (5) vendors and opened in the County Building, Waukegan, Illinois on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, J & S Power Solutions, Hinsdale, IL is the lowest responsive and responsible bidder in the amount of $74,583.00; other bids were received from Power System Engineering, Crestwood, IL, $88,116.00, Quality Power Solutions, Madison, WI $94,812.00, Electrial Contractors, Inc., Mundelein, IL, $94,950.00 and a non-responsive bid from Preon Power, Elmhurst, IL, $75,670.00.
