Staff Summary
· The Division of Transportation (DOT) will be making improvements to Washington Street from Hainesville Road to Lake Street starting in 2014.
· The Department of Public Works (PW) owns and operates the water main and sanitary sewer within the Washington Street right-of-way.
· Portions of the PW water main and sanitary sewer must be relocated as part of the Washington Street improvements.
· DOT will construct a storm water pump station as part of the Washington Street improvements and asks PW to operate and maintain the pump station.
· DOT and PW wish to enter into a Letter of Intent and Concurrence in which PW would assume operation and maintenance of the storm water pump station and pay DOT a sum of $446,359 in exchange for which DOT would design and construct the relocation of the sanitary sewer lift station, water main, and sanitary sewer main.
· This resolution authorizes the Director of Public Works to execute the Letter of Intent and Concurrence related to the Washington Street Improvement Project.

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, the County of Lake (County), through its Division of Transportation (DOT), will be making improvements to Washington Street from Hainesville Road to Lake Street; and

WHEREAS, the County, through its Department of Public Works (PW), owns and operates the water main and sanitary sewer within the Washington Street right-of-way; and

WHEREAS, portions of the PW water main and sanitary sewer must be relocated as part of the Washington Street improvements; and

WHEREAS, DOT will be constructing a storm water pump station as part of the Washington Street improvements and asks for PW to operate and maintain the pump station; and
