Report on an amended agreement for sewage disposal with the Village of Riverwoods.

Staff Summary

·      The County and the Village have previously entered into a Restated and Amended Agreement for Sewage Disposal, dated August 12, 2008 with a 20 year term.

·      The agreement provides that the County operate and maintain the sanitary sewer system owned by the Village of Riverwoods and provide billing and collection of user fees.

·      A portion of the user fees are transmitted to the Village in order to fund the cost of infrastructure replacement by the Village, on average approximately $1.60 per home per month.

·      The Village has requested that the agreement be modified to include a higher amount of remittance to more fully fund the cost of system replacement, which would include an additional $5.00 per home per month to $6.60 per home per month.

·      A review of the draft agreement will be presented for Committee discussion and input.
