Staff Summary
· Change orders that exceed 10% of the original contract amount must be reviewed and approved by the Public Works & Transportation and Finance & Administrative Committees.
· A third change order is required because as part of the design phase of the project it was discovered that additional improvements such as concrete repair and steel building frame replacement must be included in the design to ensure structural integrity of the plant.
· This change order totals $4,650 and combining this additional work with change orders #1 and #2 exceeds 10% of the original contract.
· Change orders #1, #2 and #3 will increase the amount of the original engineering services contract by $31,890 from $158,278 to $190,168, or 20.1%.
