Body
WHEREAS, a county board may accept or receive unsolicited gift or grants, any charitable donation including real property as specified in 55 ILCS 5/5-1051; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Doris Miller, a resident of Lake County, has offered to donate to the County two burial plots, graves 15 and 16, located in Willow Lawn Memorial Park, in Vernon Hills, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the County Board accepts the donation of the burial plots to be used for the public good to bury unclaimed bodies of the deceased; and
WHEREAS, the County Board would delegate the distribution of the cemetery plots to the Lake County Coroner; and
WHEREAS, the Coroner's Office will conduct an investigation and establish there is a verifiable financial need; and
WHEREAS, the County will provide Mrs. Miller with a letter accepting the donation with a statement of the estimated value of the donated property for tax purposes; and
WEHREAS, the County Board authorizes the Chairman to execute the Transfer of Interest Deed for said burial plots.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Lake County Board accept said burial plots.
