RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works Department has received a grant from Congressionally Directed Spending through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) Community Grants Projects; and
WHEREAS, these dollars will provide design funding to Lake County Public Works for upgrade to the biosolids dewatering equipment at the Des Plaines River facility; and
WHEREAS, this grant amount totaling $400,000 has been awarded by the US EPA at 80 percent of the total project cost ($500,000); and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Public Works enterprise funds will be used to support the remaining 20 percent of the project cost and the grant term is from September 25, 2023, to September 29, 2024.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the amount of $400,000 is hereby accepted and appropriated for the Lake County Public Works Department.
