Staff Summary
· The Lake County Board adopted the Lake County Bikeways Ordinance on June 13, 1988.
· Amendments to the existing ordinance are necessary to clarify certain outdated provisions and to provide for administrative adjudication as an additional enforcement mechanism.
· These changes are part of an overall set of ordinance amendments and proposed ordinances by the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, the County Board adopted the Lake County Bikeways Ordinance on June 13, 1988 and incorporated Chapter 96: Recreational Vehicles on Land, into the Lake County Code; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Sheriff's Office is making recommendations for changes to the Ordinance to clarify certain provisions and provide for administrative adjudication as an enforcement mechanism; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to 55ILCS 5/5-43005, specified counties, including Lake County, were given authority to create a system of administrative adjudication for any violation of a county ordinance except any violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code (or similar offense that is a traffic regulation governing the movement of vehicles and except for any reportable offense under Section 6-204 of the Illinois Vehicle Code); and
WHEREAS, on September 13, 2011, the Lake County Board adopted the Lake County Administrative Adjudication Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the amendment, attached as Exhibit A hereto, be adopted and be made effective May 1, 2015.
