Joint resolution authorizing the Chair of the County Board, the County Clerk and the County Engineer to execute an agreement between Lake County and Crawford, Murphy and Tilly, Inc., Aurora, Illinois, for the provision of Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering) for the proposed improvements to Cedar Lake Road (County Highway 28) at Monaville Road (County Highway 55) at a maximum cost of services described of $201,034.01. This resolution appropriates $240,000 of Matching Tax funds for these engineering services.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Cedar Lake Road (County Highway 28) and Monaville Road (County Highway 55) are designated routes on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial for the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of Cedar Lake Road at Monaville Road could be improved by widening and resurfacing and the installation of permanent traffic control signals or roundabout; and
WHEREAS, Phase I (Preliminary Engineering) studies are required for the proposed improvement to the intersection of Cedar Lake Road at Monaville; and
WHEREAS, it is advisable that a consultant engineering firm be employed to provide said Phase I engineering services (Preliminary Engineering); and
WHEREAS, Lake County by and through its Division of Transportation has selected a professional engineering services firm in accordance with the Local Government Professional Services Selection Act (50 ILCS 510/1 et. seq.); and
