JOINT RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the County is vested under State Statute with authority to protect and clean the environment and the groundwater; and

WHEREAS, the County has established a Brownfield Fund in an intergovernmental effort to reduce environmental contamination and promote the redevelopment of brownfield sites throughout Lake County; and

WHEREAS, guidelines have been approved by which the County can entertain requests from local governments within Lake County for brownfield funds for specific projects within their community; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Barrington has determined that there is a need for environmental remediation at the ADCO Van and Storage building, located at 322 North Hough Street in Barrington, which will contribute to the redevelopment of the Village’s downtown area; and

WHEREAS, the Village of Barrington has submitted a request for the County’s Brownfield Funds, with said funds to be matched by the Village, to be used for environmental cleanup activities that will result in the protection of the environment and groundwater...
