• The Salem Group has been providing temporary employee services for Lake County since 2006.
• The Lake County Board approved a resolution on January 12, 2021, authorizing Lake County to utilize the Lake County Health Department contract for temporary employee services.
• There is a need to extend the current agreement with The Salem Group through March 31, 2026, in order to continue service and provide time to secure a new contract.
• The Purchasing Agent has determined that an emergency procurement exists to prevent serious disruption of government services.
• This change is germane to the original contract as signed and is in the best interests of the County.
• This contract extension will cost the County an estimated amount of $450,000.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Salem Group has been providing Temporary Employee Services since 2006; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to extend the current agreement with The Salem Group through March 31, 2026, in order to continue service and provide time to secure a new contract; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 33.067 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance the Purchasing Agent has declared that an emergency procurement exists to prevent serious disruption of government services; and
WHEREAS, emergency procurement and contract extensions require the approval of the County Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the Purchasing Agent is authorized to enter into an emergency contract extension for Temporary Employee Service through March 31, 2026, in the estimated amount of $450,000.
