Staff Summary
· SMC has entered into an agreement with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) to control invasive species and stabilize the stream banks of Bull Creek, a major stream channel in the Dead River watershed.
· A grant in the amount of $57,000 from NFWF will be used to complete the project.
· SMC will be reimbursed by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation from this grant award for grant management, technical and stream restoration services.

WHEREAS, Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) is undertaking a stream/riparian restoration project along Bull Creek in the Village of Beach Park through a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) SUSTAIN Grant; and
WHEREAS, the Stormwater Management Commission has entered into an agreement with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to manage the grant project; and
Whereas, the SMC has authorized staff time for grant management and technical services toward the cost of restoring 1800 linear feet of Bull Creek in the Dead River watershed; and
WHEREAS, the SMC has entered into an agreement with NFWF to receive $57,000 from the SUSTAIN Grant Program and this amount is not included in the 2013 budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $57,000 in the Stormwater Management Commission budget is hereby authorized in expense budget account 212-4202140-81010 for the NFWF SUSTAIN grant; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a corresponding emergency appropriation in the amount of $57,000 in the Stormwater Management Commission budget is hereby authorized in revenue budget account 212-4202140-45335 for the NFWF SUSTAIN grant; and
