Resolution to approve the proposed text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).
Staff Summary
· The Lake County Board adopted a Resolution amending the Lake County Watershed Development Ordinance (WDO) on July 10, 2012.
· These text amendments must be adopted so Lake County can remain in good-standing in the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and continue to be a Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) “Certified Community.”
· The Regional Planning Commission (RPC) has recommended approval of the amendments by a vote of 10-0.
· Following the required public hearing, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended approval of the amendments by a vote of 7-0.
· The Planning, Building and Development Department staff has reviewed the proposed amendments and recommends that the text of the UDO be amended in accordance with Exhibit A.

WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held by the Lake County Zoning Board of Appeals pursuant to the Statutes of the State of Illinois on the petition of the County of Lake, which seeks to amend the text of the Lake County Unified Development Ordinance Watershed Development Ordinance (WDO) revisions. The proposed text amendments pertain to Articles 4, 6, 8, and 14 of the UDO, as well as revisions to Appendix N and addition of Appendices R and Q.
WHEREAS, your Zoning Board of Appeals, after reviewing the testimony presented at the public hearing on the aforesaid petition, has submitted its report thereon to the County Board and its report recommends by a vote of 7 - 0 that the proposed text amendment be approved as specified in Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, your Planning, Building and Zoning Committee duly considered the proposed text amendment aforedescribed and recommends by a vote of 6 to 0 that the text amendment be approved as specified in Exhibit A.
