R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Deerfield Rd. (County Highway 11) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), i.e. the federal stimulus bill, allocated additional dollars to the State of Illinois under the Surface Transportation Enhancement Program (STP/E), which funds must be authorized by March 3, 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Division of Transportation has had underway, thru the IDOT federal project approval process, the segment of the Deerfield Rd. Bike Path along the southside of Deerfield Rd. from Thornmeadow Rd. westward across the Des Plaines River to connect with the existing Lake County Forest Preserve District Des Plaines River Trail; and
WHEREAS, IDOT has chosen the County’s said segment of the Deerfield Rd. Bike Path for said ARRA STP/E fund for eighty percent of the construction cost (maximum federal amount of $1,166,800).
