Joint resolution authorizing execution of a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the Teamsters Local Union No. 714, as exclusive representative of the Sergeants Division bargaining unit of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Staff Summary
• The changes requested are a result of an interest arbitration award.
• Under the award, wages will be increased in the following manner: 12/1/2010 - 1.5%; 12/1/2011 - 2.5%; 12/1/2012 - 2.5%.
• The only other major change was shift bidding and is now based on time in rank, not time with the Department.
• The CBA shall be effective for a three year period from December 1, 2010 through November 30, 2013.
Body
WHEREAS, the Teamsters Local Union No. 714 has been recognized as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent for the Law Enforcement for Sergeants Division employees of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office; and
WHEREAS, a Collective Bargaining Agreement has been negotiated with the Teamsters Local Union No. 714, as the exclusive representative of the Law Enforcement Sergeants employees of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, consistent with the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act; and
WHEREAS, your Law and Judicial and Financial and Administrative Committee have reviewed and approved said agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, that the County Board Chairman and the Lake County Sheriff are hereby authorized to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement attached hereto and made a part of this Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Agreement shall be effective from December 1, 2010 through November 20, 2013.
