Staff Summary
* The Lake County Department of Public Works operates the Wildwood Water System, which includes the Dady and Decker Subdivision, and within the project area, water main pipes are as old as 50 years and have reached the end of service life and require improvement.
* The most economical and efficient method to provide reliable service is to replace approximately 3,000 feet of water main and line approximately 300 feet of water main in the Wildwood Water System.
* The project is supported in part by a Community Project Funding grant through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), secured through the office of Congressman Brad Schneider.
* An invitation to bid was issued and sealed bids were received from four contractors for this work ranging from $2,118,943 to $2,630,494.
* The award of this contract is recommended to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Mauro Sewer Construction of Des Plaines, Illinois, in the amount of $2,118,943.
* This resolution authorizes and directs the County Purchasing Agent to execute a contract with Maruo Sewer Construction of Des Plaines, Illinois, in the amount of $2,118,943.

RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Lake County Department of Public Works owns, operates, and maintains numerous water systems throughout the County including the Wildwood Water System within which is the Dady & Decker community; and
WHEREAS, certain segments of water main pipes within this community have reached the end of service life; and
WHEREAS, the most economical and efficient method to provide reliable service is to replace approximately 3,000 feet of water main and line 300 feet of water main in the Dady & Decker community; and
