· The lowest bidder was determined to be non-responsible in accordance with Article 4, Section 12 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance.
· This resolution authorizes the contract with Alpha Paintworks, Inc., Chicago, IL, in the amount of $50,375.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, the County of Lake owns and operates water supply systems facilities serving diverse communities throughout the County; and
WHEREAS, these systems include fire hydrants that are in need of painting; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Rules of this County Board, bids were called for by publication for the Preparation and Painting of Fire Hydrants for Lake County Public Works; and
WHEREAS, subsequent to said publication, the County invited fifteen (15) contractors to bid on the project; and
WHEREAS, five (5) sealed bids were received and publicly opened in the office of the Public Works Department on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, Alpha Paintworks, Inc., Chicago, IL, is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of $50,375.00; four (4) other bids received ranged from $44,237 to $63,550; and
WHEREAS, the lowest bidder was determined to be non-responsible in accordance with Article 4, Section 12 of the Lake County Purchasing Ordinance.
