Presentation of Indian Creek Stream Assessment and Community Outreach.

 

Staff Summary

•                     The Lake County Stormwater Management Commission (SMC) hosted a community outreach meeting at the Vernon Township Community Building to discuss local perspectives on the current condition of Indian Creek and potential opportunities for drainage improvements.

•                     Pursuant to 55 ILCS 5/5-1104.4, SMC issued a written 30-day notice of planned stream assessment work to all property owners along Indian Creek between Buffalo Grove Road and Port Clinton Road.

•                     Staff will present the findings of the stream assessment conducted between October 1, 2025, and October 17, 2025, along with an example of an Indian Creek restoration project that was implemented upstream of Buffalo Grove Road.
