Staff Summary
· Deerfield Parkway and Buffalo Grove Road Resurfacing: Appropriation.
· Deerfield Parkway (Busch Parkway to Barclay Boulevard), and Buffalo Grove Road at Sandalwood Road, are in need of resurfacing.
· These resurfacing improvements have been identified within the County’s pavement management system, and are included in the 2012 program.
· The resurfacing method will be ultra-thin concrete white-topping.
· In addition, a connecting sidewalk will be constructed along Deerfield Parkway with the cooperation of the Village of Buffalo Grove.
· Before a project letting can be held, an appropriation of $875,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds is necessary.

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Deerfield Parkway (County Highway 11), and Buffalo Grove Road (County Highway 16), are designated routes on the County highway system; and
WHEREAS, it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if Deerfield Parkway (Busch Parkway to Barclay Boulevard), and Buffalo Grove Road at Sandalwood Road could be resurfaced; and
WHEREAS, the project will consist of the installation of ultra-thin concrete white-topping over a milled bituminous surface on the two roads, and building a connecting sidewalk along Deerfield Parkway; and
WHEREAS, plans, specifications and estimates of costs for this improvement have been completed, and this improvement is now ready to proceed to contract letting; and
WHEREAS, before a construction letting can be held, an appropriation of funds is needed.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by this Lake County Board, that there is hereby appropriated $875,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the installation of ultra-thin concrete white-topping over a milled bituminous surface on Deerfield Parkway (Busch Parkway to Barclay Boulev...
