Resolution of Memoriam commemorating the life and accomplishments of Dr. John E. Schulien.

IN MEMORIAM

 

WHEREAS, Dr. John E. Schulien was a member of this County Board for ten years, serving from 1992 - 2002; and

WHEREAS, John Schulien passed away on January 3, 2010, and his passing has saddened us all and gives us pause to praise his memory; and

WHEREAS, John Schulien was well respected and admired by his Board colleagues, elected officials and staff; and

WHEREAS, John Schulien was a leader and a gentleman during his tenure on this Board, serving as Chairman of the Management Services, Taxation & Election Committee from 1996 - 1998, Vice-Chairman of the Building & Health Committee from 1992 - 1994, Vice-Chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee from 1996 - 1998, Member of the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, Management Services, Taxation & Election Committee, Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, Taxation, Election & Records Committee, and the Community & Economic Development Committee; and

                     WHEREAS, an official Statement of Memoriam by this County Board is indeed fitting.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by this County Board of Lake County,

Illinois, that we do, in unison, extend our heartfelt sympathy to his widow Janice and to his children and grandchildren; and

                     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that we do revere the memory of John Schulien and the contributions that he made to Lake County government, and we shall remember John Schulien as a man deeply devoted to working for the best interests of our County and the people he represented.
