· Casey Road at US Route 45 Intersection Improvement: Addendum to Original Agreement.
· On May 14, 2002 the County Board authorized the execution of a joint agreement with the State of Illinois for the improvements to the intersection of Casey Road and US Route 45.
· The original agreement contains a null and void term of expiration of three years subsequent to execution and in order to keep the terms and conditions of the original agreement current an addendum is required.
· This addendum extends the terms and conditions to the original agreement to July 1, 2012.
Body
WHEREAS, Casey Road (County Highway 48) is a designated route on the county highway system; and
WHEREAS, the free flow of traffic along Casey Road is beneficial to the safety and welfare of the State of Illinois and the County as a whole; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois by and through the Department of Transportation purposes to improve US Route 45 by widening and resurfacing from IL Route 137 to IL Route 120; and
WHEREAS, the State of Illinois and Lake County believe it would be beneficial to the safety and welfare of the motoring public if the intersection of US Route 45 and Casey Road could be improved by the installation of traffic control signals as part of the above-said improvements to US Route 45; and
WHEREAS, this County Board of Lake County, Illinois, by prior resolution at its meeting of May 14, 2002 authorized the execution of an agreement between the State of Illinois and Lake County providing for the improvements to the intersection of US Route 45 and Casey Road; and
